“Community is everything!”

A Little Bit About Myself

I’ve lived in Brazoria County since 2023, and it already feels like home. I love fishing, nurturing my plant collection as a proud “Plant Daddy,” and spending time in nature. My cool cat, Atticus, is my favorite companion for relaxing at home after a day outside.

My Journey

When I moved to Lake Jackson, I was thrilled to discover a June Pride celebration—Brazoria County’s very first! I felt encouraged and inspired to see this visibility in my new home. I started attending BC Pride’s social events and quickly found a group of kind, supportive friends who made me feel welcome. Recognizing the difference this community made in my life, I felt called to step up and contribute my time, experience, and energy to help others find the same sense of belonging.

Why This Matters to Me

As someone who knows how isolating it can feel to lack visible LGBTQ+ community members and leaders, I believe in the power of connection. BC Pride gave me hope, joy, and a community when I needed it most. My commitment to this work stems from my desire to ensure no one feels alone—because together, we thrive.

My Hopes for the Future of Brazoria County Pride

I want to see BC Pride continue to grow and expand its reach, offering even more resources, events, and support for LGBTQ+ individuals and allies. My dream is for everyone in Brazoria County—no matter their background—to feel supported, celebrated, and empowered to be their authentic selves. Together, we can create a future filled with love, understanding, and unity.
